Paintings

These mixed media paintings, oil and collage, originated from sketchbook drawings following a happy family holiday in Yorkshire, to Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay. The drawings, and images from trips to Scotland wandering on the shores in Bute, reflect my passion for the UK coast and the unpredictable weather only adds to the atmosphere and tranquility of the environment. The textured neutral colour washes and soft elusive imagery of ephemeral birds, sea life, waves, flotsam and jetsam contrast with the abrupt edges of static shapes from surrounding rocks and trees.
